buffer issue when playing cd's in winamp

Hi all. I have a problem when playing cd's using winamp. It will play fine for a while and then it will start to buffer badly. I know it's not the cd because I can play it in a regular player and it works and my cd ram is also working properly. I have not tried to play the cd with other players to see if this occurs. Any ideas? Thanks.

first, go to prefferences. Get to the cd ripping section, and select the ripping tab. Uncheck the option to rip using the sonic extraction engine. This also allows you to rip cd's gapplessly.
